Welcome to counsellingwithanna

Counselling is a safe, comfortable and confidential place to explore and reflect on what is troubling you.  By working together with your Counsellor you can open up about your feelings without being judged or criticised.

Counselling can give you a clearer frame of mind, a more positive outlook on life and better communication with others, allowing you to cope and feel more in control of your situation.

  • Is life feeling overwhelming or challenging?
  • Is stress or anxiety preventing you from living the life you want to lead?
  • Do you feel out of control, stuck or lost?
  • Would you like to improve the relationships in your life?
  • Change the way you react to people or events?

If so, now could be the right time for you to reach out for help and support. We can work together to make your life better and more fulfilling.

Get in touch with me for a free 30 minute conversation with any questions that you may have.

You can work with me either face to face in a room in Wimborne. We can walk together side by side in various locations in East Dorset. Or we can work online via Zoom or over the phone.

How Can I Help?

I help my clients explore their life transitions which help them to build resilience and improve their self esteem.

I can support you to identify and understand patterns of behaviour and where you have difficulties in communicating to enable healthier relationships.

We can work together to understand the impacts that anxiety and negative thinking have on your life and support you to find strategies that help bring more balance to your life.

I will listen to your story and support you through times of grief and loss.

Types of Therapy

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

CBT is a great talking therapy designed to support you to think about the connections between how you think, feel and behave. Working together with your Counsellor you can identify how you view situations and begin to make steps to change this for the better. Research shows that this is a highly successful form of therapy to support anxiety, negative thinking, depression and stress. It is a structured approach with an emphasis on the client and counsellor working together to support change using specific methods.

Humanistic Integrative Approach

Integrative counselling looks at you as a whole person, working with your mental, physical and emotional needs. I will draw on techniques and tools from different modalities to tailor an individual approach for you. As you begin to understand the causes of your concerns you can begin to develop new behaviours and ways of coping to improve your life and feel more in control. The key element to this approach is the trusting relationship between client and counsellor, allowing you to speak freely without judgement or feeling criticised.

Single Session Therapy

Single Session Therapy is based on working on an immediate problem that needs to be solved. It works best alongside other supported services or as an introduction to further counselling. It is goal focussed and action orientated. It works really well to find a way forward if you feel stuck or to look for a solution.

Walk & Talk Therapy

We will work in the same way, exploring your thoughts, outdoors, walking side by side. We move at your pace and enjoy connecting with nature. Working within social distancing guidelines, this offers an alternative to online counselling with the benefit of some gentle exercise. Various locations available in East Dorset to suit your needs.
